Nasal warts are relatively common benign tumors that are often linked to human papillomavirus. The lesion is more common in the younger age group, and the hands and feet are the commonest areas to be involved; however, the literature provides scant data regarding its presentation and management in the nose. The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness and safety of an office-based procedure for excising nasal warts under local anesthesia with chemical cauterization of their bases. Fifteen pediatric patients with nasal warts were included in this study. They were treated in a clinic setting using a standardized procedure: topical 5% lidocaine cream for anesthesia, scalpel excision, followed by chemical cauterization with silver nitrate sticks, and topical application of salicylic acid for 2 weeks. Follow-up of patients was carried out for at least 1 year. Complete lesion resolution was achieved in all patients, and no complications were detected either intra- or postintervention. Wound healing occurred within 2 weeks, and no recurrences developed through the follow-up period. In conclusion, office-based excision of nasal warts using local anesthesia and chemical cauterization followed by topical application of salicylic acid is a safe, effective, and low-cost alternative to more invasive surgical techniques.
