[Article in French]

In a retrospective study of 53 pregnant women who were constitutionally thin, there was a slight excess of premature deliveries. The birth weight of the term babies was lower than expected but there was no excess of serious perinatal complications. Adipose tissue was characteristically absent in these mothers. This may explain the results and be responsible for the failure to achieve optimum foetal development.
