Chronic pain: replicated multivariate clustering of personality profiles

J Clin Psychol. 1984 Jan;40(1):129-33. doi: 10.1002/1097-4679(198401)40:1<129::aid-jclp2270400124>3.0.co;2-z.

Abstract

Cluster analyzed the MMPI profiles of 70 male chronic pain patients into four homogeneous subgroups. Mean composites for each subgrouping were entered into a PDP 11 computer to generate an objective actuarial narrative description. Findings appeared to extend and replicate the work of earlier investigators.
