The role of Doppler ultrasound in acute deep vein thrombosis

Abstract

Doppler ultrasound in the range of 5 mHz is a simple, portable, inexpensive, and accurate technic for the diagnosis of acute deep vein thrombosis. One hundred sixty patients underwent bilateral Doppler examinations and ascending contrast venography. The overall accuracy was 94 per cent.
