A comparative study of cancer registries in the German Democratic Republic and the Estonian SSR

Abstract

This paper reviews routine activities of the National Cancer Registry (GDR) and the Estonian Cancer Registry. It describes the status of the registries, their general data management procedures, data items, manual and computer file organisation. Some ways to improve registration techniques at the registries are discussed.
