As many as 2723 workmen aged 15-64 years (1736 women, 987 men) from a radio electronic industry enterprise were examined with the purpose of finding out the prevalence of arterial hypertension (including borderline and persistent ones), depending on the length of service, in two different occupational groups: the basic one consisting of those exposed to lead compounds occupationally, and control one. The examination showed that the level of dynamics of the AH patient relative numbers was significantly higher in those contingents of workmen who had been occupationally exposed to lead compounds for long periods of time.
