Evaluation and implementation of a research-based falls assessment innovation

Nurs Clin North Am. 1995 Sep;30(3):507-14.

Abstract

The MFS is a research-based practice innovation designed to identify patients at risk for falling. With careful selection of falls cut-off scores, it offers an effective method for identifying most patients at risk for falling. Necessary frequency of falls assessment may vary among different populations. It is important to remember that a falls assessment instrument needs to be accompanied by a strong falls prevention program.
