Patient concerns related to media coverage of silicone implants

Plast Surg Nurs. 1995 Summer;15(2):89-91.

Abstract

Plastic surgical nurses must be aware of the sources of media information their patients are hearing and reading. Television was found to be the most frequent media source of information, and the effect of implant rupture was the most common concern. Plastic surgical nurses are in an excellent position to provide sound scientific information to address fears and anxieties over implant-related issues.
