A sociological property of drugs: acceptance of users of alcohol and other drugs among university undergraduates

J Stud Alcohol. 1977 Jan;38(1):58-74. doi: 10.15288/jsa.1977.38.58.

Abstract

An analysis of student social acceptance of drug users reveals attitudes similar to those held by society at large. Student users of the drugs most established in the general society--alcohol and nicotine--were more accepted by their peers than were users of other drugs. Implications for prevention are discussed.
