MR imaging of the liver. Technique

Magn Reson Imaging Clin N Am. 1997 May;5(2):205-21.

Abstract

Multiple techniques are currently available for MR imaging of the liver. Optimization of MR pulse sequences is a critical issue in MR imaging of the liver because image quality and diagnostic value greatly depend on imaging protocol. Imaging protocols vary among institutions because of differences in equipment and because of the absence of consensus regarding the most appropriate sequence. This article presents an overview of the basic MR sequences, highlights the most recent advances, and presents the more promising future trends in MR imaging of the liver.
