The silent emergency

Can Nurse. 2000 Apr;96(4):45-6.

Abstract

Three quarters of the children who die worldwide, die of causes related to malnutrition. Experts call it "the silent emergency" because, to the casual observer, many of these children show no outward signs of problems. Understanding the impact of malnutrition on the health of children may offer some insight into how we can help solve these problems, both in developing countries and at home.
