Impella RP: A Promising Intervention in Acute Right Ventricular Failure Caused by Massive Pulmonary Embolism

JACC Case Rep. 2019 Nov 6;1(4):622-625. doi: 10.1016/j.jaccas.2019.09.009. eCollection 2019 Dec.

Abstract

Due to the scarcity of data, Impella RP is not approved for acute right ventricular failure caused by massive pulmonary embolism. We describe here the successful use of Impella RP in acute right ventricular failure caused by massive pulmonary embolism to highlight its promising outcome in such an indication.
