A highly specific new enzyme, S-adenosyl-L-methionine: (6-O-methyl-norlaudanosoline)-5'-O-methyltransferase which catalyses the formation of nor-orientaline from 6-O-methyl-norlaudanosoline and SAM was discovered, partially purified, and characterized.
