A new triterpenoid saponin from Artemisia sphaerocephala

Nat Prod Res. 2008 Dec;22(18):1633-6. doi: 10.1080/14786410701869564.

Abstract

The ethanol extract of the whole plant of Artemisia sphaerocephala yielded a new and a known triterpenoid saponin, which were identified by spectroscopic techniques. The new compound was identified as (3beta, 16 beta, 21 beta)-16,21,28-trihydroxyolean-12-en-3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl(1 --> 2)-beta-D-glucuronopyranoside.
