Abstract

Fifty three cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) in Sichuan and 212 normal individuals in our University were studied for their human Leucocyte antigen(HLA) typing by the standard NIH microcytotoxicity test. A total of 135 antisera which could defined 44 specificities of HLA-A, B and DR loci were used for this purpose. In this paper, BW46 and DR antigens for detecting NPC patients is reported at home for the first time. The results showed that there existed a strong correlation between BW46 and NPC (RR = 7.19, chi 2 = 18.10, Pc less than 0.05) and an apparent negative association between A11 and NPC (RR = 0.36, chi 2 = 9.79, Pc less than 0.05). The gene frequency of DR blank in patients was much higher than that in the controls (Pc less than 0.05). B17 frequency in patients was also higher than that in the controls (chi 2 = 6.85). Even though the Fisher P value was less than 0.01, it was insignificant after being corrected. There was no significant difference between the patients and controls in our data A2, A9 and AW19.
