Abstract

The article "BNIP1 inhibits cell proliferation, migration and invasion, and promotes apoptosis by mTOR in cervical cancer cells", by F.-H. Li, L. Xiang, L. Ran, S. Zhou, Z. Huang, M. Chen, W.-F. Yu, published in Eur Rev Med Pharmacol Sci 2019; 23 (4): 1397-1407-DOI: 10.26355/eurrev_201902_17096-PMID: 30840260 has been retracted by the Editor in Chief for the following reasons. Following some concerns raised on PubPeer regarding a possible overlap in Figure 2A, the Editor in Chief has started an investigation to assess the validity of the results as well as possible figure manipulation. The journal investigation revealed a duplication in Figure 2A between BNIP1 panels, migration and invasion, respectively and in Control and invasion panels. Consequently, the Editor in Chief mistrusts the results presented and has decided to withdraw the article. The authors have been informed about the journal's investigation but remained unresponsive. https://www.europeanreview.org/article/17096 This article has been retracted.
