CT appearance of the pleural space after talc pleurodesis

AJR Am J Roentgenol. 1997 Jul;169(1):89-91. doi: 10.2214/ajr.169.1.9207506.

Abstract

Objective: This study describes the CT appearance of the pleural space after talc pleurodesis.

Conclusion: After talc pleurodesis, the pleural space reveals variable degrees of pleural thickening and nodularity, often with a residual loculated effusion. High-attenuation areas representing talc deposits are expected and should not be confused with other pleural abnormalities.
